Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is caused by degeneration or break down of cartilage in joints due to the aging process or repetitive trauma/injury. The most common joints affected by osteoarthritis are hand joints, hips, knees and spinal joints.

 

Osteoporosis

Why is osteoporosis an important health issue?  It has been estimated that around 75 million people in developed countries have osteoporosis at any one time. One in 6 women in the UK experiences a hip fracture in their lives.
